About Us
MINISTRY FOCUS:
The Fellowship of Christian Counselors (FCC) exists to provide support, to encourage fellowship and to enhance education for Christian healing professionals and associates to help people develop Christian spiritual maturity.
Since 2004, when the initial planning committee met, the intent of was to offer an opportunity for Christian healing professionals to meet together, pray together, and learn together. We recognized the challenges faced by others like ourselves, as well as the power we share through our relationship with Jesus Christ. As we spoke with Christian counselors in the community, it became apparent that many others felt the need for support, as well.
PEOPLE SERVED:
The 2008 Membership Directory lists several dozen FCC members, the majority of who live and work in the Fort Wayne area, although membership is not restricted to geographical boundaries. The majority (67%) have masters (or higher) degrees in the counseling field, and many are licensed with the state, although the members represent a wide variety of specialty areas and settings.
Monthly meetings are attended by approximately 20-30 people. Members invite co-workers and friends in the healing professions as guests. Certificates for Continued Education Units are offered only to those with paid memberships; but anyone in the healing professions is welcome to attend the educational meetings.
